INCOINCO

Safety

Safety is paramount to all else involving workers in the construction industry.  Nothing is more important than the health and safety of all personnel involved in the job.

At Inco Services, Inc., we work safely, and constantly strive to improve our safety performance at all levels through a comprehensive practical program of employee training, employee awareness, incentives, and vigorous enforcement of established procedures.  Our excellent safety record reflects the success of this program.

We employ field safety inspectors and trained safety professionals on every major project, and we hold construction superintendents and craft foremen, as well as each individual craftsman responsible and accountable for their project’s safety performance.

Inco Services’ Safety Program encompasses:

  • Responsibility and accountability
  • Safety education and training
  • Occupational health
  • Substance abuse program
  • Accident investigations, trends and reports
  • Major loss causes, reviews, and remedial actions
  • Accident prevention procedures
  • Hazardous substance communication
  • Worker incentive programs
  • Project Safety

Inco Services’ Corporate Safety Policy Manual, Employee Handbook and Site Procedures Manual are the basis of our Project Safety Program.  The program is implemented on each Inco project under the management of our Corporate Safety Director.  During our initial site meeting with the customer for each project, we introduce team members, verify responsibilities, review site-specific issues, and confirm all safety and emergency procedures.

Drug & Alcohol Policy

Inco Services, Inc. is certified by the Workers’ Compensation Board as a “Drug Free Workplace”.  We are committed to maintaining a safe and productive workplace and have an established policy regarding the abuse of alcohol and drugs.  Our policy, contained in our Corporate Safety Manual, applies for all Inco employees – craft, supervision, management and staff, both in the field and the home office. This mandatory alcohol and drug test program includes screening:

  • pre-employment
  • with reasonable cause
  • periodic random
  • subsequent to an individual’s involvement in an accident or accident “near miss”
